"China Ming Period XVI E XVII Century Porcelain Plate From The Cargo Of The Merchant I Sin Ho "
In the year 1608 (Ming dynasty, 1368-1644), in the South China Sea, Mr. I Sin Ho, aboard his junk, headed towards the Sultanate of Johore. Off the coast of the province of Binh Thuan, 40 nautical miles east of Phan Thiet, it was shipwreck. The cargo of Mr. I Sin Ho, is composed of ceramics which were produced during a brief period, from 1550 to 1650, in Zhangzhou These ceramics remained silent at the bottom of the water for 400 years. In the 2000s, Vietnamese fishermen found the treasure. After several years of work, archaeological teams brought back this strange cargo. Today, the label from the excavations bears witness to the provenance, but it is above all its unique patina which shows the value of these survivors.
