The treatment is very interesting, lots of details which capture the movement in a few quick strokes and which evoke the elegance of these characters in their simplicity.

He quickly abandoned the barber's tools to enroll at the School of Fine Arts. At the Louvre Museum, he attracted the attention of Georges Marinescu, a Romanian neurologist, with his exceptional gifts for drawing and handling colors.
The learned Romanian neurologist took him into the workshop of Jean-Léon Gérôme, official painter, professor known for his attention to objective detail found in Neylies' paintings.

At 28, Jean Neylies, married to Marie-Josèphe Eolet, model and model in Paris, left Gérôme's workshop and France to follow Professor Marinescu to Romania.
