and many nineteenth-century characters walking with their dogs. Landscape art work, XIX Century.
The work is signed at lower right by Jules Rozier, a French landscape painter who loved to paint outdoors.
Rozier Jules Charles (1821-1882), trained in Bertin's atelier and later in that of Delaroche before
then pursued his career alone in Medan and later in Normandy where he loved to paint landscapes and seascapes.
He exhibited his paintings from 1839 to 1882 at the ‘Salon de Paris’. A painter as delicate and intimate as his painting.
Many paintings by this artist can be found in various museums in France: Aix, Nantes, La Rochelle and many others.
The oil painting dresses with a gilded frame made of pure gold leaf from the 19th century.
The frame and the antique canvas have been professionally restored.
