"Exceptional Silver Plate, Probably For Ceremonies "sigillum Militum Xpisti""
Exceptional Templar plate in silver, probably for ceremonies, made of a hammer-hammered plate with a twisted border. The seal imprinted on the brim determines the illustrious provenance: "SIGILLUM MILITUM XPISTI". The importance of this extremely rare find also lies in the preciousness of the material. Silver in the thirteenth century was worth much more than it is now, about a tenth of gold. Provenance from the former Prof. Cirafici Collection in Palermo. Diam. cm. 21
