23cm Diameter 20cm Height Charles Catteau was a renowned 20th century Belgian ceramist, best known for his work at the Boch Frères Keramis ceramic factory. Born in 1880 in Douai, France, Catteau studied at the École des Beaux-Arts de Douai before joining Boch Frères Keramis in 1904. His distinctive style quickly attracted attention, and he became the artistic director of the he company in 1907. Under Catteau's leadership, Keramis became famous for its innovative and decorative ceramic pieces. His work spans a range of styles, from cubism to modernism, and he often incorporated floral and geometric patterns into his designs. Catteau was also a pioneer in the use of glazing and decoration techniques, which contributed to Keramis' international fame.
