This is a Marine Oil Painting, which represents a Marina with Rocks and Small Boats. 
The work represents a glimpse of a rocky coastline with a village in the background.
It is an oil painting on panel from the 19th century.

The painting is signed in the bottom right L. Tesson, a French painter of landscape paintings, genre scenes
of nudes, cityscapes, water landscapes, he was also an Orientalist painter.
Tesson Louis (1820-1870) was born in Calais and was a pupil of Alexandre Gabriel Decamps.

He began exhibiting his works at the ‘Salon Des Artistes Français’ in Paris from 1841 to 1867.
His works feature landscapes of Normandy and Provence, but above all landscapes of the Maghreb.

Many works of art by this artist can be found in various French museums in Calais, Gueret, Mulhouse.
The antique painting bears a beautiful original carved and gilded wooden frame coeval to the work.
The antique frame and wood have been professionally cleaned and restored.
