In an original antique frame from the first half of the 19th century.
A long annotation on the reverse side of the painting speaks of its purchase and, apparently, further gift in the 1830s.
The painting is small in size, in good condition, recently professionally cleaned of old painterly varnish by an experienced restorer.

Pastoral landscape with an idealization of life in the lap of nature. It's funny to see a mixture of dreams about Ancient Greece, Egypt and Italy in one work. It's a kind of Egyptomania with a slightly Italian taste.
