"Rare Kachan Mortachem Silk Rug, 1920"
Kachan Mortachem silk carpet, dating from the first part of the 20th century. This rug is distinguished by its exceptional finesse. It is in excellent condition, with vibrant colors. Its motif is a true earthly paradise: the imperial palace is finely drawn at the bottom right, while a symbol of Iran is represented near four stylized cypresses and a river surrounded by richly flowered trees of life. On the right, an original watercourse abounds in fish, surrounded by flowering trees of life on an old gold background. A dog near a hazel tree and a house, with stylized ducks and birds, add to this delicately balanced Persian landscape, adorned with admirably drawn mountains and valleys. Its triple borders, notably the main midnight blue one, are decorated with cartouches inlaid with multicolored compositions of flowers, birds, landscapes and houses. A rug of rare beauty and originality, with exquisite polychromy. Dimensions: 204 x 134 cm Density: 10,000 to 11,000 knots per dm2
