Beautiful pair of dueling & precision shooting pistols, chest and percussion, 2nd Empire period, NAP III°, 19th century. Octagonal barrel carrying front sights and eyecup and inside the barrel striped with 50 fine hair-like grooves. Barrel muzzle outlet diameter: 12 mm. Mechanism on both weapons in perfect working order. Curved trigger under trigger guard chiseled with foliage and floral motifs. Chest entirely chiseled throughout, one of which bears the number 3. Crested dog on the side and in the axis bearing floral carving and dolphin head style percussion head. Beautiful pear-type walnut stock bearing on the right side at the angle at the height of the cap an identical numbering on both weapons: 0780 & 22. Shell-shaped flap cap serving as a primer reserve, chiseled in floral vine surround.
