Georges-François Alix (1846-1906) was established at 46, rue de Charonne and moved in 1878 to 6 bis, rue Richard Lenoir. He specialized in "antique genre furniture, bronzes and marquetry" and participated in many important international exhibitions of the time, notably the Paris exhibitions of 1884, 1885 and 1889.
There are a number of references to "Alix" in the archives of the famous furniture manufacturer François Linke. The references date after Alix's death in 1906 and indicate that Linke purchased a number of Alix's wooden models and marquetry designs.
A selection of Alix's wooden templates survives in the Linke archives.
