Beautiful oil on canvas in its art deco frame. The oil signed Danty. This is Léopold Danty, many of whose works are listed. He was born in 1863 during the Second Empire and is best known as an illustrator. He was a student at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Bordeaux and then under Gustave Boulanger in Paris. He illustrated several works including Bataille de fleurs au Parc bordelais by Charles Cazalet published in 1892 by Gounouilhou. He participated in exhibitions at the Paris Salon (1887 and 1888), particularly for his portraits. Here, it is about the outing of day students from the Bordeaux high school during the Belle Epoque.
