Large French Safe Key, Directoire-empire Period

Beautiful locksmith work, this large main key of a French safe, late 18th or early 19th century, these iron-covered oak cabinets with large rivets, as seen on last picture, and not to sale.
… It generally took 3 or 4 different keys to open them…. This key is superb, elongated oval ring, turned base with large ring, strong 12mm stem, hollow, thick bit with complicated holes forming the central design of an H. Beautiful locksmithing, good condition: little used, it was probably the key to the double…..
