Late 18th century Genoese Empire crystal chandelier with a giltwood carved stem, featuring six curved candle arms draped with cut crystal beads and clear pendants and decorated with a few blue and red crystals and original gilded and repoussé brass elements and clear crystal flowers.
This is the most elegant, timeless shape and style of Italian chandeliers, you can see the same Genoese chandeliers into Genoa’s Palazzo Ducale, Ducal Palace or Doge’s Palace.
Originally used with wax candles, this antique chandelier comes from a private villa of Milan it is in very good condition. Minor gilding losses consistent with age of 250 years has been restored.
