I am offering these 2 rare watercolors by Julien Py representing views of Collioure. - The first represents a view of Collioure, the smallest but the oldest, I think around 1950, it measures 25x34cm excluding frame and 32x40cm including frame, it is signed lower right. In good condition, very slight oreoles towards the bottom but insignificant, very beautiful palette and of course as always a powerful drawing. Delivered in an old vintage wooden stick. Price of this watercolor alone: €330 - The second is larger and more modern, it also represents a view of Coillioure, signed lower right, it measures 33x43cm outside the frame and 54x63cm including the frame. In perfect condition, delivered framed in a modern baguette. Magnificent watercolor, extremely fresh, very modern thanks to a powerful touch and the most subtle coloring. Price of this watercolor alone: €430 Or price for the 2 watercolors: €700 Julien Py was therefore a Catalan painter, more precisely from Collioure, it is even said that he would be the last great painter of the Collioure school, born in Collioure in 1909 he died at the age of 106 in this same town. He taught drawing and painting between 1947 and 1965, he practiced drawing, painting and even sculpture, but it was with watercolor that he achieved his letters of nobility, the technique in which he excelled the most. He also had a very fine collection of works by Catalan painters, a bequest was organized for the city of Collioure after his death. Py is therefore logically today one of the best painters of the Catalan school and the painters of Collioure alongside the Peské; Hanicotte, Achille Laugé, Henri Martin, Martin Vives, Adrien Hamon etc...
