Italian Bedside Table Louis XVI

Lombard Louis XVI bedside cabinet measuring 77 x 40 x 33 cm inlaid in various woods.

In spite of its extreme simplicity due to the flat, rectangular top, front and sides, the Louis XVI bedside cabinet owes its elegance in addition to its beautiful proportions and slender legs to the harmonious division of the inlaid fields made with great refinement and artistic sense.

The front, flanked by two inlaid foliage decorations on a black background, has only one door in which an inlaid female figure stands out amidst trees and a vase in various shades of wood with a small drawer with walnut and fillets that echo the decoration on the door.

The decorative design on the horizontal top and sides stems from the various plays of wood that are truly refined, elegant and colourful.
