Very beautiful and large varnished watercolor with white gouache highlights by FRANZ (active in the 19th century). This navy, signed lower left, is bright and very decorative. In the foreground, a boat has run aground and fishermen are busy around it, getting into a canoe. In the background, the horizon comes alive with other boats. The originality of this beautiful watercolor also lies in its framing with rounded corners. The frame is a good size: 38 x 48 cm.
