Very beautiful pair of Louis XVI period torches in patinated bronze, gilded and marble. Base in ocher pink veined marble, on which a smooth column in browned black marble holds a putti with raised arms supporting the candle holder. At the base of the marble column, a bronze frieze chased with gilded bronze water leaves, as well as the binet. The putti are well proportioned and plump. The details of the faces are of good quality. The two children are different and face each other while hanging. Original patina and gilding. During dismantling, we were able to observe typical 18th century assembly marks such as chiseled points to indicate the locations, as well as the threaded rod typical of the period. The binets are held together with screws (one from the period, the second replaced). Very good condition of the house. Louis XVI period, late 18th century.
