Large Mirror in Gilded Wood from the Louis XVI Period Circa 1780 Large and Superb Mirror in Gilded and Carved Wood from the Louis XVI Period. This one has an openwork pediment, carved with a couple of doves under a crown, richly decorated with scrolls, foliage, flowers and volutes. Trimmings falling on either side of the mirror. The Frame of this Mirror is Decorated with a Flowered Basket, Rosettes and Rinceaux. Its Mirror is Bordered by a Frieze of Pearls. Of Very Beautiful Proportions, It is Finely and Richly Carved, Has its Original Gilding. Very Beautiful Decorative Element, Refined and Elegant. Mirror with the Attributes of Love with its Couple of Doves. Doves Symbolizing Love. Since Antiquity, the Dove has been the Attribute of Aphrodite, Goddess of Love.
