"Gold Cross, 19th Century."
This pretty cross is characteristic of 19th century Auvergne jewelry. In gold, it is decorated with six small faceted cut garnets, they are each mounted in a closed setting on a circular gold element engraved with geometric patterns. These adorable little crosses were generally worn at the end of a black velvet ribbon, this kind of pectoral cross can also be worn around the neck. It bears as its control mark a horse's head which is struck for the departments from 1838 to 1919, for objects in 750/000 gold. The channel shown in the main photo is not for sale.
