Beautiful bronze sculpture representing General Bonaparte during the battle of the Pont d'Arcole.
Signed Xavier Raphanel (1876-1957) on the terrace.
Bronze with triple patina.
Very good state of conservation.
The sculpture is presented on a veined green marble base bearing a dedication and dated 1927: "The association of reserve officers of the Bas Rhin to its devoted general secretary Victor Pfister 1927".
Total height with base: 35 cm. Width: 25 cm. depth: 14 cm
A certificate of authenticity will be given to the buyer
The Battle of Arcole Bridge took place from November 15 to 17, 1796 during the first Italian campaign. It pitted the 19,000 French of the Army of Italy, under the orders of Napoleon Bonaparte, against the 24,000 men of the Austrian army.
