"Important Ghoum Silk Rug Signed: Ghoum Ahmadi, 1970."
This superb Ghoum rug, dating from the time of the Shah circa 1970, this rug is distinguished by its silk pile on silk foundations, including warps, weft and fringes. With its golden beige field decorated with scrolls of scrolls and garlands of palmettes and delicately drawn flower bulbs, this rug offers a remarkable graphic design without a central medallion, ideal for a sophisticated decoration. Its triple borders, the main one of which is ruby, present a decoration of interlacing palmettes and flower buds surrounded by fine stems crenellated in twists, with remarkably designed leaves. The work is signed by the artist Ghoum Ahmadi in a cartouche inlaid in the counter-border. In good general condition, this rug demonstrates beautiful finesse and constitutes a valuable addition to any collection or interior decoration. Density: approximately 11,000 knots per dm2.
