Consulate Senior Officer's Saber

Elegant senior light cavalry officer's saber in the style of national award sabers. He is in his gilding.
Hungarian-style guard, nicely cut tray cap on the hilt, twisted ebony hilt like a staff officer's sabre, oval mumps. Top of the crown and mumps highlighted with a raised cord.
Curved blade with a hollow side in damascus. It has preserved the trace of a golden cartridge bearing cabalistic signs characteristic of the “return from Egypt” fashion.
Scabbard with two long brass fittings connected together by two reinforcing splints forming a hollow covered with black shagreen. Domed bail bracelets. Ridged ram barrels. Brass rings. Asymmetrical iron stinger.
This saber in good condition has retained almost 90% of its gilding.
