17th Century Flemish School Hunting Scene

Painting, oil on canvas, measuring 75 x 103 cm without frame and 82 x 110 cm with frame, of the Flemish school depicting a hunting scene.

The confident outline of the almost drawn and strongly chiaroscuro brushstrokes reveals a graphic preparation and a cultured and composite pictorial conduct. In this canvas we immediately perceive the analytical capacity of the Flemish tradition, which is easily grasped by the range of colours present here and by a clear preference for drawing where both the richness of the details and a very methodical and rational arrangement of each individual character or object emerge.
