After studying in Buenos Aires, Torres Agüero began painting in a figurative style. He settled in Japan from 1959 to 1961. This stay changed him, and his style tended towards lyrical abstraction. His first exhibition took place at the Museum of Fine Arts in Buenos Aires in 1973. He continued to travel between his native country, Paris and Europe. He finally decided to settle permanently in Paris where his style became more geometric. Torres Agüero meets Hugo Pratt, who draws him painting with tin cans. Despite this mockery, Torres Agüero is an artist recognized by his peers for his search for purity. Influenced by the principles of Satori and Zen, the artist moves more and more towards geometry to, according to him, access the truth of art without artifice. He died in 1995 in Paris. Numerous works in French museums (National Museum of Modern Art, Museum of the City of Paris, Georges Pompidou Museum, Dunkirk Museum of Modern Art, etc.) and Argentinean ones.
