Exceptional sculpture floor lamp in bronze and brass sculpted, patinated and painted, depicting a Japanese crane (tsuru) / heron / wading bird picking red fruits in the middle of lush nature (flowers, water lily leaves). 5 lights with tulip lampshade in glass/opaline colors. Art Nouveau style / Japonism, France, circa 1900. Inspired by the productions of Meiji Japan which was opening up to the rest of the world, Western artists, particularly French, were inspired by them. The movement called “Japonisme” was born and from it came Art Nouveau. Unsigned, similar models are exhibited at the Musée d'Orsay in Paris. In excellent condition.
