"Edmond Van Coppenolle Pair Of Still Lifes"
Pair of still lifes by Edmond VAN COPPENOLLE oils on panel format 24cm x 19cm. 1872, he moved to France, to Moret-sur-Loing, near Montigny, to work in the Schopin earthenware factory. He moved into a large workshop on the Grand-Rue. Responsible for decorating earthenware, he produced numerous sketches, studies (often very precise) and drawings in Indian ink and pencil. His favorite subjects are still lifes, genre scenes and landscapes which reflect his admiration for the Flemish masters of the 17th century and his awareness of the French fashion for a more natural representation of flowers. The artist died in Château-Landon, France, in 1914.
