Edouard Drouot (1859-1945) French sculptor Édouard Drouot was a French artist known for his bronze and marble sculptures of allegorical and mythological scenes. Sometimes creating animal and orientalist works, Drouot's sculptures, whether of animals or people, are characterized by a sense of movement and an expressive touch. Born April 3, 1859 in Sommevoire, France, he studied with Mathurin Moreau at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Paris and exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1889. Today, Drouot's work is found, between others, in the collections of the Courtauld Institute in London and the Indiana University Art Museum in Bloomington. The artist died in 1945 in Paris.
