Charming master chest of drawers from the Louis XV period and the 18th century. Veneer wood and marquetry. Three prints. Faux marble top. Bronze drawer handles and shoes. Charming model. At the creation stage, after having executed drawings, the artisan cabinetmaker makes a reduced-scale model, giving the best idea of the volume. These models were often made of natural wood, marquetry, fabric, metal, hard stones, in the same materials as the large pieces of furniture. At the marketing stage, certain craftsmen and industrialists placed models like Chippendale in their points of sale, or sent them to their distant customers.
