" Beautiful And Romantic Inkwell In Bronze And Finely Painted Paris Porcelain Mid-19th Century"
An object full of Romantic charm, this beautiful rectangular inkwell in carved bronze with a beautiful molded border encasing a superb porcelain plate painted with fine motifs in cartouches of maritime and country landscapes, a cream and soft pink standard with a dove in flight, jetties of protruding golden flowers on a turquoise blue background in the style of Sèvres, the scenes in gold and reddish brown and French blue frames the small navy in the style of unrolled parchment, the four finely chiseled claw feet. I particularly like the long cartouche of a landscape in the setting sun with a peaceful river, groves of trees and a large castle-like house in the distance. The delicate touch and great finesse, everything contributes to taking us on a journey to the middle of the 19th century. The body of the inkwell where rests the thick white porcelain bucket closed by a cap well decorated with a dove with outstretched wings surrounded by fruits and leaves, the body of the reservoir decorated with fine grooves. the fine, polished bronze is of high quality. This Curiosity coin from the Romantic era 1840/50 is a very pleasant piece in perfect condition.
