Maurice Charles Marie LE LIEPVRE (1848 - 1897) Oil on canvas representing: landscape at the edge of a lake. Original painting in its condition, signed lower right Framed in a painted wooden frame. Dimensions; with frame 67/49 - oil on canvas only 56/39. Biography: Maurice Charles Marie LE LIEPVRE exhibited at the Salon from 1877 to 1896 Painter. Born in Lille, died in Paris. Student of Dubuffe, Mazerolle, Harpignies and Laurens. Influenced by Pissarro, he debuted at the Salon in 1879. Active in Paris. If Le Liepvre was a contemporary of the Impressionists, he placed himself more in the continuity of the painters of the Barbizon school, and in particular Henri Harpignies (1819-1916), with whom he was close. Author of some large decorations, he above all produced numerous studies inspired by the Loire landscapes.
