The Childish Round - Bronze Circa 1980 By M. Miyamoto 1917-2001

Bronze - signed - brown/golden patina - very good condition - marble base - with its presentation box (reglued, tired, cracks).
 Mitsutsune Miyamoto born in 1913-2001 - Tokushima prefecture (Island near Kobe).
Graduated from the Imperial Art School. Student of Takashi Shimizu.
From 1936, selected for the Bunten (Salon of Fine Arts), where he exhibited throughout his career.
His training is characteristic of the pre-war period: a strong influence of European and Greco-Roman sculpture. In fact, he had Takashi Shimizu as his master (a figure of the Montparnasse School). He published numerous nudes and subjects, always in a very peaceful and sensual register.
He will have his own school of sculpture from the 1960s.
Many of his sculptures are on display at the Mount Myoken Sculpture Park in Naruto City.
