"Great Monstrance – Relics Of Saint Placide – Late 18th Century"
In the three niches of this reliquary, six relics are offered to view, including two of Saint Placidus, Martyr, who is in the spotlight. At his side are Saint Désiré and Saint Vincent, as well as two other Martyr Saints. In carved, cream and gilded lacquered wood, decorated with foliage and rocaille-style scrolls, the central part houses an abundance of rolled, gilded paper, gilded thread and colored beads. In its center is a wax bust of the Virgin. Two reliquary niches frame the central part. The whole rests on a rectangular terrace.
On the back are five seals with the arms of an archbishop with a coat of arms representing a crayfish.
