Lovely oil on panel representing a bouquet of scarlet red nasturtiums in a vase. With their large, decorative leaves, some of which are starting to turn yellow for a beautiful contrast effect. Signed lower left “HJ Delpy”. In its frame with channels and foliage motifs on the corners in wood and stucco with original golden patina. Henry Jacques DELPY was born on June 28, 1877 in Bois-le-Roi (Seine et Marne) and died on November 24, 1957 in Paris. Painter of landscapes, water landscapes, like his father, Hippolyte Camille Delpy, of whom he was a student. Henry Jacques Delpy is listed in Bénézit and in the work “Dictionary of Little Masters of Painting 1820-1929” by Gérald Schurr and Pierre Cabanne.
