Interesting gold pendant in the shape of a rudder engraved on both sides in Cyrillic with dedication dated 1915: To Michman GN Bolotine, Rudderless race prize, 2nd brigade of the EBM
Michman line corps (in Russian: marina guard; in Cyrillic: michman) was the highest rank among non-commissioned officers in the Soviet Navy. This gold pendant most likely represents a gift awarded to a high-ranking non-commissioned officer of the Soviet Navy for victory in a competition, perhaps a sporting discipline.
Gold hallmarks 56 zolotniks (875 thousandths), from Saint Petersburg circa 1915 and that of Master Goldsmith with initials “KP” in Cyrillic, unidentified goldsmith.
