"Important Property Library In Walnut, Restoration Period – Early 19th Century"
This important solid walnut bookcase opens with two large doors with a miter-cut frame chamfered from the inside decorated with horizontal bars, i.e. three panes in all. These doors are decorated with a half-round joint cover, an original lock, two chiseled round-shaped brass entrances and a fitted key. This piece of furniture also has two projecting drawers, in vertical veneer, with grooves and forming a plinth. The latter, opening through notches located below, are dressed with false entrances. The amounts, rounded, are sober. The sides are made up of a single panel each. The cornice is concave in shape below with square ending in a slight molding. The interior offers five adjustable shelves, mounted on racks, with sloping edges.
