Oil on canvas illustrating the portrait of a two-masted American boat. The first name William is embroidered on a flag placed on the upper part of the second mast (certainly the name of the painter). A figure appears at the top of the first mast to rally the ropes. We can see that a second ship from the American fleet appears in the left background of the painting. This is a rare representation of American ships.
