Lithograph by Adolphe Willette (1857-1926) signed lower right and captioned lower left. Adolphe Willette, after studying in the studio of Alexandre Cabanel at the School of Fine Arts, was one of the most prolific press cartoonists and illustrators of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. An essential personality of Montmartre, he frequented Vincent Van Gogh, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Camille Pissarro and Georges Seurat. The lithograph is framed in a carved wooden frame and measures 18.2x23.5 cm alone.
