Hunting trophy sculpture in carved wood from the Black Forest (Black Forest*) representing a duck, a woodcock and a small bird, suspended among branches and foliage, from the 19th century. This sculpture is in good condition. Note: the lower part of the support was broken then glued back together, small crack in the upper part, a few old worm holes (this trophy has been treated), small missing (old) on the end of one leg of the duck, wear time, see photos (see red arrows). * Black Forest or Black Forest Carved wooden objects from the Black Forest did not originate in Germany but were made in the Brienz region, Switzerland. The tradition of woodworking is ancestral in this region, the inhabitants perpetuate the practice of carved wood on the facades of houses, furniture or everyday objects. The sculptors excel in particular in the representation of wild animals in their natural environment. In the 19th century, these naturalistic sculptures from the black forest became very fashionable and highly prized.
