"Japanese Style Viardot Mirror With Dragon, Circa 1880"
Superb Japanese-style mantel / fireplace mirror in lacquered wood, carved with an imposing dragon and decorative motifs. Japonism, France, circa 1880. Attributed to Gabriel Viardot (1830-1904), famous Parisian cabinetmaker specializing in the production of "Chinese-Japanese" furniture. He distinguished himself on several occasions at the Universal Exhibitions of 1867, 1878, 1889 and 1900, during which he received several medals. In very good condition, some signs of wear. Total dimensions: Height 110cm Width 78cm Depth 28cm Dimensions of the mirror: 73 x 52 cm.
