Temple ridge ornament (Faiteau) called, according to interpretations, “Garuda” (In Sanskrit: Eagle), mount of the god Vishnu or “Hong/Hamsa” representing the mythical bird or swan, animal vehicle of the god Brahma. Beautiful original patina, faded dotted with vestiges of red and yellow bowl (Couleurs de Brahma). Thailand or Laos, 18th century. Delivered with its white or black steel base, adjustable inclination of the shofa. Provenance: Estate of the collector and art dealer Claude de Marteau. Sold with certificate of provenance.
