"Richly Carved Lyre Chairs, Louis XVI Period"
Beautiful pair of chairs with openwork gendarme hat backs, in molded and richly carved beech, the backs with columns topped with plumes, decorated with friezes of heart rays, framing a lyre carved with friezes of piastres and decorated with acanthus leaves, rosettes and pine cone, the belts delicately highlighted with friezes of heart rays, standing on tapered and finely fluted legs.
Louis XVI period.
Very good condition.
To be compared to the works of Georges Jacob or Jean-Baptiste Boulard.
