"André Sornay (1902-2000) Art Deco “totem” Table"
"Totem" Model Table by André Sornay (1902-2000) Modernist occasional piece of furniture from the Art Deco period circa 1930 presenting a cubist structure in rosewood, the base and the two tops are decorated with a studded decoration in gilded brass arranged in top edge, the lower uprights form a locker, the side screws visible in gilded brass. In 1933, André Sornay filed a patent entitled "Furniture panel system and its method of assembly" it corresponds to an assembly system whose exterior panels reveal as decorative elements metal points arranged in lines and spaced apart , most of the time in one of André Sornay's favorite types of wood: Oregon pine, rosewood or mahogany. Good original condition, note an old veneer graft located in the right corner of the lower top. Dimensions: 53 cm high X 44 cm wide X 26 cm deep.
