"Panther Sculpture Irénée Rochard "
Spelter sculpture representing a moving panther placed on a black marble base and onyx plate. Signed on the right on the Rochard terrace. Irénée Rochard, French sculptor born in Villefranche-sur-Saône (1906-1984). Animal trade 20th century. He studied at the Ecole nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris where he met François Pompon and Edouard Marcel Sandoz. In 1931, he won a gold medal at the colonial exhibition in Paris and in 1938 he became a member of the Society of French Artists. It is known mainly for its panthers. Good condition. Note small chips on the onyx and a crack on a black marble slab on the facade, see photo number 11. Dimensions: Length 42 cm Height 23 cm Depth 12 cm
