"Imari De Brocard, Edo Period, Pair Of Small 24cm Dishes, "
Pair of pretty dishes from Japan, Arita porcelain, executed in style: kinrande, “gold brocade” 18th or early 19th century, each marked on back in blue with the mark of the former Emperor Chengua, with six ideograms , and surrounded by a frieze of perched birds.
Powerful colors and fresh gilding, abundant floral decor incorporating embroidery medallions and even a distant view of pagoda roofs.
Note: a Japanese gold repair of a small crack and chip. (2 photos). Minimal chip-wear on edge, detectable under finger.
Diameter: 24cm each. Japanese porcelain, before 1860.
