Gilt bronze proof representing a young naked woman with a rosehip flower at her feet. Signed on the terrace Antonin Carles and titled "La Jeunesse". Foundry mark Siot-Decauville Fondeur, Paris and numbered D347. Green Algerian marble-onyx base, with a small repair due to a slight chip on a corner.
History
The plaster cast acquired at the 1883 Salon (NO 3426), placed in 1886 in the marble depository, was deposited in 1889 in the Grenoble Museum of Fine Arts; reductions were published in marble, in biscuit by the Sèvres factory in three sizes, in bronze and gilded bronze by Siot-Decauville in two sizes; commissioned by the State in 1883; statue commissioned at the Salon
