"Jeff Friboulet (1919-2003), Spanish Children, Oil On Canvas Signed,"
Spanish children by Jeff FRIBOULET, Oil on canvas signed upper left. Titled and dated on the back. Émile Jean Jules Friboulet, known as Jef Friboulet, a painter from Fécamp, has gone through life inexorably drawing the colors of his paintings from life with this constant concern to create. His cheerful mood hides a difficult childhood in Fécamp as the son of a Newfoundland sailor. The hostile sea then steals his father's place. He discovered reading and drawing at the port community school and became involved in scouting, the values of which would remain deeply anchored in him throughout his life. He entered the active world at the age of 12 and anticipated the military call at 20 by enlisting in the 104th aviation regiment at Le Bourget where his initials gave him his name. JeF will become a photographer and painter for the armies. The return to civilian life after the war made him a bus driver and he, the autodidact, used his free time to practice the art of painting, techniques learned from other artists. From 1948, Jef Friboulet exhibited regularly in Upper Normandy and his painting asserted itself more and more until he created his own expressionism where the material and the line reinforce the nobility of man in his most banal work. Which earned him his first honors in 1950 with the Autumn Grand Prix in Monaco. He subsequently received numerous awards. He worked and exhibited throughout his life throughout the world (Roubais, Fecamp, Paris, Shanghai, Tokyo, etc.) and his works are present in numerous museums. Shipping possible anywhere in the world.
