Émile Jean Jules Friboulet, known as Jef Friboulet, a painter from Fécamp, has gone through life inexorably drawing the colors of his paintings from life with this constant concern to create. His cheerful mood hides a difficult childhood in Fécamp as the son of a Newfoundland sailor. The hostile sea then steals his father's place. He discovered reading and drawing at the port community school and became involved in scouting, the values of which would remain deeply anchored in him throughout his life.
