"Sculpture Joan Of Arc Maxime Real Del Sarte"
Silvered bronze sculpture representing the bust of Joan of Arc on a marble base. Signed on the back of the bust M Real del Sarte. Maxime Real del Sarte was born in 1888 in Paris and died in 1954 in Paris. He was born into a family of accomplished artists. he received the Grand Prix International des Beaux-Arts in 1921. He worked in a classic but stylized style. He regularly exhibits at the Salon des Artistes français in Paris of which he is a member. Bronze medal in 1920 and silver medal in 1927. Wounded during the war, he called on excellent sculptors to help him create his works. Catholic, he had a passion for Joan of Arc, of whom he made no less than 40 statues which symbolize for him his patriotic and royalist attachment. He created numerous monumental works, including one famous for the city of Rouen. Dimensions: Height 16 cm Width 8 cm Depth 5 cm
