Superbly Cut Crystal Centerpiece, Ireland, Late 18th Century
Artist: Verrerie Anglo-irlandaise
Beautiful large oval bowl nave shaped, crystal or blown lead glass, (internal bubbles and inclusions) external faces entirely deeply hand tools cut of ample decoration, flared, curved body, flat oval base whose massive underside is cut of star. Border is indented.
This centerpiece is typical of Bristol work late 18th century. You will find some of them among our Anglo Saxon antique dealer colleagues who value it greatly..... Anglo Irish glassware from the 18th century or Directoire, a superb model.
Condition: Good, no cracks, no shine. There are scratches, wear and differences in polish, which are lost in abundance of curves of this large masterpiece.
