Bing & Grøndahl was a Danish porcelain manufacturer, founded in 1853 by the sculptor Frederik Vilhelm Grøndahl and the brothers Meyer Hermann Bing and Jacob Herman Bing , merchants. The Goéland series of table sets became known as the Danish national table set in the 1950s, with one in ten households owning one. In 1987, Bing & Grøndahl merged with the Royal Porcelain Factory (Den Kongelige Porcelænsfabrik) to become Royal Copenhagen. The bird is in good general condition, neither missing nor cracked.
