"Pierre Thévenin (gray, 1905 - Lyon, 1950) - Flower Bouquet"
Pierre Thévenin was born into a family of musicians, he became first prize in cello in 1923. He also studied painting and attended the École des Beaux-Arts in Lyon. Pierre Thévenin exhibited his first paintings in 1928 at the Salon du Sud-Est where he was welcomed regularly thereafter. From 1932 and for 4 years, he traveled as a professional musician on cruise ships, and thus traveled the world. He also went to Morocco in the footsteps of Eugène Delacroix and Matisse.

Back in Lyon in 1936, he experienced an important period of creation and created vast mural compositions for amateurs. At the same time, he carried out an intense activity as a portrait painter, painting friends and intimates, notable people from Lyon and portraits of children. In 1949, the French state bought him a “bouquet of flowers” which has since been kept at the Museum of Fine Arts in Lyon. He died on October 12, 1950 from an accident that occurred while he was working in his workshop in Saint-Just.
